Elite Force PS2 review

New EFXP Holomatch modes

Elite Force Expansion came with new Holomatch commands and modes. To use these modes, either select them on the create server screen when choosing your map, or you can activate them while playing the game.

Note that it is possible to activate these modes (through the console) if you upgraded holomatch to version 1.2 even though you don't have the expansion pack! Though, for full features of the expansion like single player virtual voyager and playing online, please buy the expansion.

Many of these new modes can stack (though, some maybe incompatible with each other (eg ActionHero+Assimilation) and can be played on normal modes such as CTF.

Assimilation

Assimilation is when one team is borg and the other federation. The goal for the feds are to kill the borgqueen (on the borg team), the goal for the borg, is the assimilate all the Fed members.

Type in the console to activate:
\set g_pModAssimilation 1
and then restart the map (\map_restart)

You can also type \exec assimilation to perform the same action as above.

Disintegration

Disintegration mode is when you can kill with one shot. This is similar to instagib mods for other FPS games. This mode reward players with high accuracy and reflexes.

Type in the console to activate:
\set g_pModDisintegration 1
and then restart the map (\map_restart)

You can also type \exec disintegration to perform the same action as above.

Action Hero

Action hero mode is when one person starts off as the Action Hero - with a few times health and ammo than ordinary players. When an ordinary kills the Action Hero, he becomes the Action Hero.

Type in the console to activate:
\set g_pModActionHero 1
and then restart the map (\map_restart)

You can also type \exec actionhero to perform the same action as above.

Specialties

Specialties mode is when each person has to choose a specific class (Techinician, Demolition, Heavy Weapons, Scout, Sniper) to play as. It is similar to classed based play in other FPS games.

Type in the console to activate:
\set g_pModSpecialties 1
and then restart the map (\map_restart)

You can also type \exec specialties to perform the same action as above.

use \set g_classChangeDebounceTime x to change the time (in seconds) to the time that has to be passed before a change a class can occur.
eg. \set g_classChangeDebounceTime 30 - 30 seconds has to pass before the player can make his next class change.

Elimination

Elimination, as the name suggests, is when a person gets eliminated from the game when he dies. The last man standing wins.

Type in the console to activate:
\set g_pModElimination 1
and then restart the map (\map_restart)

You can also type \exec elimination to perform the same action as above.
